College of Education Handbook

Application to the COE

Application for official admission into the College of Education (COE) State Approved Teacher Preparation Program must be submitted by the end of their Field Study 1 course. 

Transfer students must submit this application during their first semester of enrollment at SEU showing attempts on all sections of the GKT.

(Applications are to be submitted to the Administrative Coordinator in the COE Dean's office.)

The following requirements must be met in order to be accepted into the College of Education:

  • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA;
  • Earn no grade lower than a “B-“ in the required speech course or its equivalent, no grade lower than a “B-” in student teaching, and no grade lower than a “C-” in any religion course, professional education course, or specialization course;
  • Evidence of attempting all parts of the General Knowledge Test (GK).
