Commencing the morning of Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, a powerful hunger for the LORD swept over the student body of Southeastern University, resulting in unprecedented continual prayer and worship, miraculous healings, sincere repentance, and a fresh wind of vibrant faith in Generation Z. Such occurrence sparked thought as to whether this blossoming generation can passionately unite and reinstitute bold faith as the new normal in a culture where supernatural healings have grown rare and unfamiliar. A similar notion first occurred to me around two weeks before this great outpouring, after my friend group and I agreed to pray for our sick friend around the table at dinner. The following day, our friend told me that he felt significantly better, leading me to seriously contemplate Jesus' words in Matthew 18:20, which read: “where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am in the midst of them”.
Jumping forward to the move of God at SEU, such unison was vividly evident in the room, with over twenty miraculous healings taking place as of day four. On Thursday afternoon, following 24 hours of extended worship, a young lady stood up to share the first physical healing testimony of the session. Since her youth, she had been told by doctors that creaking in her knee would keep her from ever running again. At one point, she was jumping and worshipping the LORD when her knee popped out of its socket, causing excruciating pain. Still, in the midst of doubt and many questions, she sensed the Holy Spirit nudging her to ask for prayer from her friends. Following this step of faith, the LORD healed her, and she was finally able to kneel without pain or creaking!
Later in the evening, another student shared of how her back was healed, allowing her to stand up straight for the first time in years. Immediately afterwards, another young lady shared that she had suffered with bronchitis and lung damage since 2023. That night she was able to take a full breath for the first time in nearly five years! Furthermore, that night she also experienced healing from chronic pains in her neck and back. Another student with a herniated disk testified to experiencing a shift in her back after receiving prayer from her mission trip team leaders, a healing that allowed her to painlessly touch her toes for the first time in a year. After this, a young lady who, from birth, had a muscular condition that kept her from opening both eyes at the same time, shared the testimony of how God healed her that day, allowing her to open both eyes simultaneously for the first time in her life!
With these five aforementioned physical healings, and several others taking place across the same timeframe, a question remains as to how our generation can grow in faith to see the supernatural working of the Holy Spirit in spite of doubt and uncertainty. It is clear that if we pray in unison for our brothers and sisters in Christ and do not give up hope, supernatural faith can become the natural in our generation, as has been exemplified by the recent holy hunger among Southeastern University's student body.
In addition to unison among the body of Christ, another major key to growing in faith for the supernatural (both for small and great healings) is to meditate on the promises of God in Scripture. Psalms 103:2-3 is a great verse to contemplate, reading: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases”. Furthermore, in Mark 11:24, Christ teaches that “whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours”. Thus, despite the long waits and “valleys of despair” that can come with healing not manifesting immediately, by continuing to trust God’s word and pray for each other as the one body of Christ, I believe that this generation can welcome the working of the Holy Spirit in both a higher frequency and a greater magnitude.
